A New Card

Cavallini & Co. just might become a favorite for added touches of ephemera to my cards. And how does a gal resist the darling little tin cans their goodies come in? I confess I am not always the best at making masculine type cards, but when I get going on the task I enjoy the process.

niceness all in a tin
and the repurposing of these tins could be endless…...

taking a peek inside the tin reveals wonderful wash tape

embossing and sanding and inking…...

Cardmaking with Color Burst

Dipping the distressed edges into Color Burst….. loving the way it colors the edges!

Distressing tool is a great way to rough up the edges of the Ken Oliver Craft Hometown papers.

I used a 4 x 6 piece of watercolor paper and embossed it with the
Alterations Texture Fades; Steampunk.
then I layered in a coat of sepia Color Burst
lightly sanding gave it a worn look
and then I came back with a little more Color Burst!

Way cool technique of changing the color of my string so that it would match my paper!
Because I kept playing in the paint my paper was getting pretty wet and I accidentally tore it; so with a little more glue and Color Burst I concluded it was a happy accident, adding to the distressed look!

Yes, I blotted the excess with a paper towel!

Using Glossy Accents I attached the gears!

I mounted all of my embellishments to a 5x7 Kraft card. The finished card will tuck into the inside of a craft envelope that has a few Color Burst sprinkles along with a Ken Oliver Craft stamp.
